Megatron ETAM25 magnetic encoders are intended for use in applications with enhanced haptic requirements. This kind of manual encoder has increased torque characteristics and perfect haptic feedback. Such units usually engaged in application with harsh conditions. The main working principle is based on the Hall effect that allows to avoid internal wearing of the unit. With Hall sensors the unit lifetime considerably increases in comparison with potentiometers. The shaft and other elements have advanced sealing in order to withstand severe working conditions and guarantee a long operational life. Additionally there is a tempered shaft sleeve bearing that allows it to make up to 200 000 shaft rotating movements and to have 100 rpm max. operational speed. You can choose a rotation angle when ordering ETAM25, it can be 90°, 180°, 270° or 320°(as a default, other options should be requested on demand). Megatron pays special attention to the tactile properties of the encoders. This is not the issue of optimal comfort and usability, but required by the need for steady-flow operation. Increased torque on the encoder shaft allows to avoid any sudden misalignments.
There are four different types of connection available – solder pads (L model), clamping terminals (K), flat ribbon cable (F) and round cable option.
